White Seamless

Hi guys,

Did a strobist photoshoot after a long time.
I wanted to do a shoot on white seamless for quite some time. Thanks to Nayana, for modelling for this shoot.

I am a big fan of David Hobby, Joe Mcnally and Zack Arias. They are not only good photographers but also great teachers of the art of lighting.

I have been following Zack Arias for a while, whose one of the specialties is the full body portraits on a white seamless. Many thanks to him, i could learn how its done correctly.

Equipment:
8x10 seamless background (polyester cloth)
2xvertical background stands, 1x horizontal stand (3 pieces)
clamps for holding seamless background.
3xlightstands
3 flashes (2 vivitar 285HV and 1 YN 460 Mark2)
1xradio transmitter, 3x receivers (rf 602)
Canon 40D with 18-55mm kit lens.
1x shoot through umbrella.
3xumbrella adapters ( also works for mounting flashes on light stand)
8x4 Plexiglass sheet (for reflection)

Did i forget something........mmmm.....nope..thats it.

A small description:

It is very important to keep sufficient distance between the model and the background to prevent any spill of light on her fom behind or from the flashes for the background. Usually it is recommended to flag the flashes for background for this purpose (but i havent done it). The exposure for background was set first which was 1/200th (close to max sync speed), f6.3, ISO 200. The flashes for background were at 1/4th power. The flash for the model was at camera left, through a shoot through umbrella. The power of this flash and the distance was adjusted to get the correct exposure for the model at f6.3 (at ISO200, of course. Shutter speed do not play any role in this since there was no ambient light used)

Strobist info:
2xvivitar 285HVs fired at 1/4th for the background and 1xYN-460 for the model through a shoot-through umbrella, also at 1/4th power. All flashes triggered by rf602
